Who we are
Petit Cadran is run by Jérôme Neuvéglise, Switzerland, who is responsible for the data described here. For any question about your data, write to hello@petitcadran.com.
Pixel Tide
Pixel Tide computes tides on your watch. It has no account, no advertising and no analytics, and it makes no network connection: nothing the watch face computes or stores is sent to us.
Location. When the station is set to Auto (the default), the watch face uses the Location permission to read the position your watch already knows: its last GPS fix, the location of the weather your phone provides, or the location of the last activity. It uses that position only to pick the nearest tide station, in the watch’s memory. The position is never stored or sent anywhere. Choose a fixed station to stop it being read.
Stored on the watch. The watch face keeps, on the watch only: your settings (station choice and colour), and the station Auto last picked, which is a coarse hint of where you were. That hint is deleted the next time the watch face looks up its station after you choose a fixed station, and uninstalling the watch face removes it.
What Garmin shares with us. Through the Connect IQ developer tools, Garmin gives us crash reports (watch model, firmware and app version, no location), aggregate download figures, and the reviews you post on the Connect IQ Store. If you change the settings in Garmin Connect or install the watch face from the store, Garmin processes the related data under Garmin’s privacy policy; Garmin Connect may keep your synced settings after you uninstall the watch face.
This website
The site is static and hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver and protect it, and keeps its request logs only briefly, under Cloudflare’s privacy policy. The site itself sets no cookies and uses no analytics.
Contact form. The support page has a contact form. To keep spam out, it runs Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks your browser (technical signals, your IP address) for Cloudflare, under the Turnstile privacy addendum; it is loaded on that page only. The name, e-mail address and message you send are e-mailed to us by Resend, Inc. (United States), which keeps a copy for up to 30 days under Resend’s privacy policy. The website stores nothing; your IP address is only counted for one minute, to limit how many messages can be sent from it.
If you write to us, through the form or by e-mail, the message reaches our mailbox through Cloudflare Email Routing. We use your e-mail address and message only to answer you, and delete them at the latest one year after the conversation ends.
Legal basis, processors and transfers
We process data on the basis of our legitimate interest in running and securing the apps and this site (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) and, when you write to us, to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f)). Cloudflare, Inc. (United States) hosts the site, runs Turnstile and routes e-mail; Resend, Inc. (United States) sends the contact form messages; our mailbox provider stores the messages. Transfers to the United States rely, for Cloudflare, on the Swiss-US and EU-US Data Privacy Frameworks and on standard contractual clauses and, for Resend, on standard contractual clauses adapted to Swiss law and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Your rights
Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you can ask what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, and receive it in a portable format, by writing to hello@petitcadran.com. You can also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If an app or this site starts handling data differently, this page is updated first, with a new date.
